History
In the early 1900s the original structure at 2702 Ashland (now the southern half of the existing building,) housed a neighborhood grocery store. In the fifties The Maples Tea Room held the space for luncheons and events. For the 56 years prior to March 2016 Sansone Floral occupied this coral pink structure on the busy corner of Ashland and Gene Field. Sansone closed its doors in March of 2016 and the building has been vacant for over a year.
Polaris Group
Polaris Group was formed by two area entrepreneurs, Mike Willoughby and Grant Catloth, to purchase the iconic Sansone building in St. Joseph, MO. Polaris Group restored and rennovated this beloved building and returned it to its former retail glory. Renovations included updating all of the mechanical systems, dividing the space into multiple units, repairing structural components, and adding ADA approved doors, hallways, and bathrooms.
